RCTL-10 Assembled and Tested - $55 (0110) -- This model is set to record temperatures every 10 seconds for a total time of 10 minutes. It is assembled and tested.Needed items are: 9V battery, calculator-to-calculator link cable (came with calculator), computer-to-calculator link cable (commercial version sold by TI or "homemade" parallel or serial link cable), and basic soldering skills to modify calculator-to-calculator link cable. Unit includes: Assembled RCTL circuit board, plastic enclosure (its use is optional), temperature sensor and "zip/wire" ties, 3.5mm plug and wire for modification of user-supplied calculator to calculator link cable (for connection to the RCTL), and a CD-ROM containing: calculator programs, RCTL microcontroller source code (for reference and educational purposes), instruction manual with assembly notes and photographs. Note, if using w/o enclosure, physical size can be reduced.
SPECIAL OPTION! Available with a 2.5mm jack instead of a 3.5mm jack for easier use with standard link cables. NO LINK CABLE MOD NEEDED! When ordering, specify you want it "with the 2.5mm jack". This does not come with the 3.5mm plug for cable modification, as it is not needed. The normal 3.5mm jack is better for those who will use a homemade computer to calculator link cable (where using 3.5mm parts are easier - the calc-calc cable will need to be modded anyway). The 2.5mm jack is better for those who use TI's computer-calc cable already.
Texas Instruments "black" Calculator to Computer link cable (serial conn.) with modified calc to calc link cable - $14 (0200) -- A genuine TI link cable for use with the "TI-Graphlink XX" program by TI. This can be used to transfer the calculator program data from the computer to the calculator. It also includes a calculator to calculator link cable with a 3.5mm stereo plug spliced into the middle for use with the RCTL or other devices (such as a homemade computer to calculator link cable).
Extra RCTL Sensor - $10 (0300) -- Install additional sensors on other engines to make moving the RCTL to a different model easier (don't have to remove your only sensor, and re-install).
Satisfaction Guarantee and Warranty Information
A RCTL unit purchased as assembled is guaranteed to work under "standard" conditions (non-crashing/abusing helicopter use. For R/C car use, it must be shock-insulated very well). If the unit stops functioning for whatever reason (try changing battery first!), it will be repaired or replaced as long as the R.C.T.L. is still being supported (not discontinued). The unit may also be returned for a full refund for whatever reason within 60 days of purchase. I am personally relying on the "honor system" in this endeavor, meaning I expect to not have the generous offers above taken advantage of. Likewise, I promise to try my best to make the purchaser happy with the product.
